BYD is making strategic moves to strengthen its presence in Europe, particularly Germany. The company is taking over its German distributor, giving it control over pricing and distribution, and will manage two flagship stores in Stuttgart and Frankfurt. This move is part of BYD's goal to capture 5% of the European auto market by 2026.

BYD unveiled a new electric hot hatch, the Seal 06GT, at the Chengdu Auto Show. The hatchback, based on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, features advanced technology and a range of up to 375 miles. It is expected to compete with Volkswagen's ID.3 GTX and will be available in Europe soon.

BYD also revealed the Sea Lion 07, a smart electric SUV, based on its e-Platform 3.0 Evo. The platform includes technology that reduces charge time by 40%, even in cold weather.

【Xpeng】

XPeng launched the MONA M03 in China with prices starting at RMB 119,800 ($16,815). The vehicle quickly garnered over 30,000 orders within the first 48 hours of its release. The MONA M03 arrives in three trims, each with varying battery capacities and ranges, and includes XPeng’s smart driving ADAS capability. Delivery of the MONA M03 has commenced in Chengdu.

【Others】

Hyundai's IONIQ 6 N, the second dedicated EV to receive the "N" treatment, was recently spotted with a massive rear wing. The IONIQ 6 facelift will feature updates similar to the IONIQ 5 and will launch next May, followed by the N model in September 2025.

Blue Bird delivered its 2,000th electric school bus to Clark County School District in Nevada. The All-American RE model features a 155 kWh battery with a 120-mile range. Blue Bird continues to expand its production capacity with a new EV manufacturing factory funded by an $80 million grant from the US Department of Energy.

SunPower filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Maxeon will provide warranty support for SunPower-branded solar panels. SunPower plans to sell its remaining assets, including Blue Raven Solar and its non-installing Dealer network, for $45 million in cash.

Blix launched the Vika X Folding e-bike at $1,699, with additional Labor Day deals on other models. Velotric is offering discounts on several e-bike models as part of its Summer Sale.
