TravelCenters of America (TA) and BP have launched their first DC fast charging hub on I-95 in Jacksonville, Florida. The hub features 12 DC fast charging ports providing up to 400kW of power. This is part of a broader initiative to expand EV infrastructure, with BP planning over 100,000 chargers globally by 2030. The charging hubs are strategically located on key highway corridors, offering convenient amenities such as restrooms and dining options at TA centers. While expanding EV services, TA continues to cater to its traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) customers. The Toro e2500-THL and TS Ultra Buggies are now available, designed for construction and demo crews seeking quiet, fume-free operations. With a carrying capacity of up to 2,500 lbs and a dump height of six-and-a-half feet, these electric buggies are powered by a 7 kWh Toro HyperCell lithium-ion battery, allowing for up to eight hours of continuous operation. Their narrow design facilitates easy navigation in indoor environments, and they feature a zero-turn radius and auto-return dump mechanism. GM has deployed its HYDROTEC hydrogen generators and other mobile charging solutions in Los Angeles to aid recovery efforts from the recent wildfires. These include Yoshi Mobility propane chargers and a biofuel-powered mobile charging station. GM is also providing support through philanthropic contributions, employee giving campaigns, and a complimentary subscription to its Crisis Assist Services for OnStar-equipped vehicles. Additionally, GM offers assistance for customers with vehicles damaged by the wildfires.
