Isuzu has started production of its new electric cab and chassis, the Isuzu NRR-EV. This marks Isuzu's first electric truck and underscores its commitment to sustainable transportation. The truck retains the versatility of previous models, featuring a modular battery design to suit various fleet needs. Isuzu's President Shaun Skinner highlighted the significance of this milestone for the company. Isuzu's N-series trucks continue to be popular in America due to their reliability and versatility. The new NRR-EV model maintains these strengths while adding electric capabilities. The modular battery system and widespread dealer network are expected to attract fleet managers. Einride has ordered 150 Peterbilt 579EV electric semi trucks for its US fleet. The company has also partnered with DP World to deploy the largest autonomous electric truck fleet in the Middle East. Additionally, Einride has opened the largest charging station for heavy-duty EVs, powered by Voltera, and has begun commercial EV truck operations with GE Appliances. The company has launched new products and customers in the US, enhancing its profile in autonomous and electric logistics. A fire broke out in the parking lot of Rivian's Normal, Illinois factory, damaging several EVs but leaving the factory itself unharmed. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries were reported. The incident occurred shortly after Rivian received approval to expand the factory to produce its R2 SUV.
