Etherscan, a leading Ethereum blockchain explorer, has introduced an innovative feature: on-chain address trust scoring. This new tool, supported by the Blockchain Bureau, assesses the credit risk of an Ethereum address based on its on-chain activities. The scoring system ranges from 'Thin File' (insufficient on-chain information) to 'Super Low Risk', with eight levels in between.

The on-chain address trust score feature is designed to enhance transparency and security within the Ethereum ecosystem. By providing a quantitative measure of an address's trustworthiness, it enables users to make more informed decisions when interacting with other addresses. This is particularly useful in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, where trust is a critical factor in lending, borrowing, and other financial activities.

The introduction of this feature comes at a time when the Ethereum ecosystem is experiencing significant growth and innovation. The Ethereum blockchain has seen an increase in the number of active addresses and transactions, reflecting the expanding use of the platform for various applications, including DeFi, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).

The on-chain address trust score feature is part of Etherscan's ongoing efforts to improve the user experience and promote the adoption of Ethereum. By providing valuable insights into the trustworthiness of addresses, Etherscan is helping to build a more secure and reliable ecosystem for users and developers alike.
