Ethereum L2 Platform Abstract Hit by Wallet Drain, Users Compromised
Ethereum L2 platform Abstract has been hit by a wallet drain issue, with some users reporting compromised accounts. The incident comes just days after the project deployed over 1 million Abstract Global Wallets (AGW).
Abstract Chain developer 0xBeans took to social media on Feb. 18 to report that "some Abstract users" had been compromised. The developer emphasized that the issue was not a global AGW issue but rather isolated to a specific application, pointing at a potential breach in the Abstract-based game Cardex.
Following the issue, another member of the Abstract Chain team, 0xCygaar, reiterated that the drain was related to Cardex and urged users to revoke their sessions. He stated that the issue was not with AGW's contracts or wallet functionality, but rather related to negligence on the app regarding session key management.
0xCygaar also confirmed that the project's contracts have been audited multiple times, including a specific review of the session key module. He assured users that these reports would be available shortly.
This is a developing story, and further information will be added as it becomes available.
