ESS Tech has been awarded a $9.9 million contract with Concurrent Technologies Corporation and the US Air Force Research Laboratory to deploy up to 27 MWh of its iron flow battery systems at the US Clear Space Force Station in Alaska. The project aims to demonstrate energy storage and efficiency technologies capable of meeting demanding military requirements in harsh environments. The deployment is part of the AFRL initiative to improve grid resiliency and power reliability for mission-critical operations.
