Enhancing Electric Service in Adams County with a New Substation and Transmission Line

A major reliability project is underway in Adams County, Pennsylvania, led by Mid-Atlantic Interstate Transmission, a FirstEnergy company. The East Germantown-Germantown Reliability Project includes a new substation and 115-kV transmission line, aiming to enhance service reliability and support future growth. The project will provide an additional source of electricity, improve operational flexibility, and expand switching capabilities, reducing the frequency and duration of outages. The upgrade will benefit nearly 2,300 residents and businesses, including Hanover Hospital, Alpha Fire Company, and WellSpan Health.
