The acquisition of Tacubaya is a significant milestone for enCore Energy. The land, which consists of mineral and surface leases with private parties, is part of the Alta Mesa Uranium Project joint venture between enCore Energy (70%) and Boss Energy Ltd. (30%). The uranium mineralization on Tacubaya occurs as roll fronts in multiple stacked sands within the Goliad Formation, similar to the mineralization found at the Alta Mesa Uranium Project.
Historical drilling completed by Chevron Minerals in the late 1970s discovered multiple uranium roll fronts at various depths within multiple sand units, which have been or are currently productive at the Alta Mesa Uranium Project. enCore plans to conduct an aggressive exploration program on Tacubaya, including a 200-hole drilling program beginning in October 2025.
The expansion of the Alta Mesa Uranium Project, facilitated by the Tacubaya acquisition, is expected to continue the productive roll fronts from the existing wellfields 1, 3, 4, 5B, and the currently operating Wellfield 7. The project's total operating capacity is 1.5 million pounds of uranium per year, with additional drying capacity of 0.5 million pounds.
The acquisition of Tacubaya aligns with enCore's strategy to expand its presence in the uranium market and provides a key opportunity for growth. The company is committed to working with local communities and indigenous governments to create positive impact from its developments.
