US electric vehicle sales are down, but charging companies are expanding and usage is up, indicating a critical mass of EVs on the road. ChargePoint Holdings posted a 7% sales increase in Q4 2025, while EVgo plans to install 1,650 new charging slots in the US this year, a 38% increase from last year. The number of ultra-fast chargers in the US increased by 48% in 2025, and the average charging station is still fairly busy most of the time.
