Bitcoin's price has slumped to a three-month low, but El Salvador and Metaplanet have taken advantage of the dip to increase their BTC holdings. El Salvador, despite pressure from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has grown its BTC reserves to 6,088.18, while Metaplanet has acquired 135 BTC, solidifying its position as the 14th largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally.

El Salvador's aggressive accumulation strategy continued this week, with the country adding 8 BTC to its treasury. This purchase follows a brief pause in February and brings the total holdings to around $543.2 million. Despite IMF warnings, El Salvador remains committed to its cryptocurrency strategy, viewing Bitcoin as a long-term economic opportunity.

Meanwhile, Metaplanet has expanded its Bitcoin holdings amid market volatility. The company acquired 135 BTC for 1.939 billion yen, financed through a 4 billion yen bond issuance via EVO FUND. This strategic use of financial instruments has increased Metaplanet's BTC Yield from 41.7% to 23.2% over the past quarter, reflecting the firm's confidence in its Bitcoin accumulation strategy.

Both purchases occurred before Bitcoin dropped below $91,000 in the early hours of February 25. The recent price drop, to around $89,000, mirrors growing market concerns and liquidation pressures. Bitcoin's current price is a three-month low, but it remains well above the $70,000 lows recorded in October 2024.

Despite ongoing volatility, El Salvador and Metaplanet appear to view this price drop as an opportunity for strategic accumulation. Their actions suggest a long-term belief in Bitcoin's value, even as broader market pressures drive volatility and liquidations. As traders and investors navigate heightened liquidations, these two entities are betting on Bitcoin's long-term potential.
