DU Says No Formal Request from Lenskart Co-Founder for Degree, Marksheets

This revelation comes amidst Lenskart's ongoing Initial Public Offering (IPO) process, where the company disclosed the missing academic documents in its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) [1].

According to the DRHP, Kapahi, who serves as the Global Head of Sourcing at Lenskart, has been unable to trace his degree and marksheets from the University of Delhi. Despite multiple attempts to contact the university, including emails and letters, no response has been received. The university has advised Kapahi to apply through the official portal [2].

The Examination Wing of the University of Delhi conducted a thorough search of both physical and email records but found no trace of any communication from Kapahi regarding the issuance of duplicate degree or marksheets. The university also noted that a payment was made under the "miscellaneous" section by a person named Deepesh on July 16, 2025, for the issuance of a duplicate marksheet. However, this payment was not accompanied by a formal application from Kapahi [3].

The missing academic documents have raised eyebrows among investors, as they are a key part of the company's regulatory filings. Lenskart has acknowledged the issue and stated that it has relied on certificates furnished by Kapahi to disclose his educational qualifications in the DRHP. The company also noted that there can be no assurances that Kapahi will be able to trace the relevant documents in the future or at all [1].
