Delhi HC Halts Dr Reddy's Diabetes Drug Rollout Over Phonetic Similarity to Novo Nordisk's Ozempic

The Delhi High Court has paused the rollout of Dr Reddy's diabetes drug "Olymviq" due to its similarity with Novo Nordisk's weight-loss drug Ozempic. The Court has directed Dr Reddy's to halt further sales and expansion amid a trademark dispute over diabetes drug branding. The Court observed that there is a phonetic similarity between the two drugs and that pharmaceutical trademarks are subject to a stricter standard.
