Crypto funding demonstrated resilience this week, with three notable raises underscoring investor interest in various sectors of the web3 ecosystem, including infrastructure, entertainment, and tooling.

Sentora, a provider of institutional custody solutions, secured the largest round with a $25 million Series A funding. This round was led by New Form Capital, with additional support from Ripple and Tribe Capital. Sentora aims to bridge the gapGAP-- between traditional finance and decentralized finance (DeFi) by offering compliant and scalable solutions for institutional adoption. The platform, formed by the merger of IntoTheBlock and Trident DigitalTDTH--, focuses on yield strategies, risk management, and financial services, addressing regulatory and operational challenges that have hindered institutional entry into DeFi.

Following closely, T-RexREX--, a web3 entertainment protocol, raised $17 million in a pre-seed round. This funding round was backed by investors including Portal Ventures, Framework Ventures, and Arbitrum Gaming Ventures. T-Rex rewards users with cryptocurrency for engaging with content on platforms like X, TikTok, and YouTube through a “proof-of-engagement” system. This system, facilitated by a browser extension, tracks viewing behavior using zkTLS technology to ensure user privacy. Users earn points by interacting with content, which can be converted into crypto, and the system will personalize content recommendations over time. T-Rex plans to launch the extension by the end of summer.

Sonic Labs, a developer-focused platform, secured $10 million in a strategic funding round led by Galaxy. The funds will accelerate the development of its $S token and expand the Sonic blockchain ecosystem, which is built on Fantom and is EVM-compatible. The Sonic Mainnet is designed for high speed and scalability, and the funds will also support new infrastructure and application development across DeFi, real-world assets, and gaming.

These funding rounds highlight the growing confidence in the crypto and web3 sectors, with investors showing a keen interest in platforms that offer innovative solutions and address key challenges in the industry. The raises by Sentora, T-Rex, and Sonic Labs reflect the diverse opportunities within the crypto ecosystem, from institutional custody and DeFi to entertainment and developer tools.

The data comes from Crypto Fundraising’s weekly roundup for May 5–10.
