Compass Mining Launches 8MW Bitcoin Mining Facility in Iowa

Compass Mining has successfully launched the first phase of its self-owned Bitcoin mining facility in Iowa, marking a significant milestone in the company's growth strategy. The initial phase, with an 8 megawatts (MW) power capacity, is now fully operational, and the construction of the remaining capacity is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of this year. This new facility, situated on a 5-acre greenfield site, represents a substantial addition to Compass Mining's infrastructure portfolio, allowing the company to exert greater control over its operations and offer enhanced flexibility to its customers.

The Iowa facility is part of Compass Mining's broader expansion strategy in the United States. The company recently launched a hydro-cooled Bitcoin mining facility in North Dakota and has energized nearly 50 MW of new power capacity across multiple states, including Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Nebraska, and Texas. This expansion underscores Compass Mining's commitment to providing reliable and efficient Bitcoin mining hosting solutions.

By owning and operating its own sites, Compass Mining can offer customers greater operational control while still providing access to a network of reliable third-party facilities.
