Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has extended an invitation to former staffers of the U.S. government's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to join the crypto exchange. Armstrong made this offer through a social media post, encouraging former DOGE employees to apply for roles at CoinbaseCOIN-- through a fast-track hiring process.

This move follows a Fox News clip featuring Ethan Shaotran, a 22-year-old former DOGE staffer and Harvard dropout, who discussed the personal sacrifices he made while working for DOGE. Shaotran highlighted the team’s dedication and mission, noting their late-night efforts to reduce bureaucratic waste.

In his post on X, Armstrong wrote, “If you are looking for your next mission after serving your country, consider helping create a more efficient financial system for the world at Coinbase.” He attached a job application form specifically for former DOGE employees, recognizing their unique skills and experiences.

DOGE, established under President Donald Trump’s administration and led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, was created to streamline federal operations. The agency claimed significant savings through various cost-cutting measures, including asset sales, contract and lease cancellations, and workforce reductions.

Coinbase’s interest in former DOGE staff aligns with Armstrong’s public support for the agency and his advocacy for the end of the income tax. The crypto exchange has been actively involved in political activities, spending over $70 million in 2024 to support crypto-friendly political action committees. Additionally, Coinbase recently added Chris LaCivita, a co-manager of Trump’s campaign, to its advisory board.
