CINNO Research: February's mobile panel prices remain stable due to the impact of the Spring Festival holiday.
On February 13, CINNO Research's chief analyst Zhou Hua stated that due to the Spring Festival holiday and traditional off-season, the prices of various types of mobile phone panels in February still remained flat, with LCD's main production lines maintaining full production and operation; at the same time, the demand for flexible AMOLED panels continued to be good, and it is expected that it will still be in short supply in the second half of the year. CINNO Research's brief review noted that due to the Spring Festival holiday and traditional off-season, the prices of various types of mobile phone panels in February still remained flat, with a-Si brand demand slightly declining, but the main production lines still maintained full production and operation. Thanks to the growth of car panel demand, the LTPS main production lines are expected to remain full production and operation throughout the first quarter. Meanwhile, the demand for flexible AMOLED panels remains strong, and it is expected to remain in short supply in the second half of the year, with the main manufacturers considering raising prices to control losses. Regarding a-Si, entering the traditional off-season in February, a-Si brand demand slightly declined, but the main production lines still maintained full production and operation, with panel prices remaining stable. With the influx of new capacity, market supply increased and competition intensified, with the price of the new a-Si products to be mass-produced still slightly lower than now by 0.1 US dollars. For LTPS, thanks to the growth of car panel demand, the LTPS main production lines will remain full production and operation throughout the first quarter, with LTPS panel prices remaining stable in the short term. However, the demand for mobile phone applications still remains sluggish, and LTPS panel prices may still face slight downward pressure in the future. Regarding AMOLED, this year, Chinese mobile phone brand manufacturers will shift their demand for rigid AMOLED panels to domestic flexible AMOLED panels, leading to a continuous decline in the demand for SDC's rigid AMOLED panels, with some production lines possibly going idle, although SDC has significantly lowered the price of new projects, it still failed to meet the price expectations of domestic manufacturers. The demand for flexible AMOLED panels remains good, and it is expected to remain in short supply in the second half of the year, with the main manufacturers considering raising prices to control losses. CINNO Research predicts that the existing project prices of a-Si panels in February and March 2025 will remain at a low level and will not decrease, while the new project prices are expected to slightly decrease by 0.1 US dollars. LTPS panel prices will remain stable in the short term, but may still face slight downward pressure in the future. The existing project prices of rigid/flexible AMOLED panels will remain stable.
