China Safeguards Farmland with Integrated Framework and Red Line Protection

China has upheld its "red line" for farmland protection, maintaining a total area of nearly 1.94 billion mu (129.33 million hectares) by 2024. The government has established an integrated framework for farmland quantity, quality, and ecological preservation to ensure the total area does not fall below the 1.8 billion mu red line.
