Chautauqua County Residents Urged to Submit Land Requests for Agricultural District Inclusion by January 31.

The Chautauqua County Legislature has designated January 2 to January 31, 2026, as the annual 30-day period for landowners to submit requests to include predominantly viable agricultural land into existing certified agricultural districts. Requests must be submitted in writing and include a description of the land, tax map identification number, and a copy of the relevant tax map. The County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board will review the proposals, and the County Legislature will hold a public hearing before forwarding the recommendations to the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets for certification.
