Central Bank of India (CBI) reported a significant 33% increase in its net profit for the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year 2025-26, ending June 30, 2025. The bank's net profit surged to Rs 1,169 crore, driven by a marked decline in bad debts and an increase in core income. Additionally, the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) rose to 17.6%, from 15.6% in the previous year, demonstrating the bank's stronger financial position [2].
The bank's total business grew by 10.84% to Rs 7,04,485 crore from Rs 6,35,564 crore at the end of June 2024. This growth underscores the bank's ability to expand its customer base and increase its market share [2].
The results were announced in a regulatory filing, with the bank's Board of Directors scheduled to meet on July 19, 2025, to review and approve the unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for Q1FY26.
