Brenntag SE announced a proposed dividend of EUR 1.90 per share for the fiscal year 2025, marking a 10% reduction compared to the prior year's payout. The decision, exceeding the upper limit of the company's stated dividend policy range of 35-50% of consolidated profit after tax, reflects adjustments for non-cash impairments and special items totaling EUR 248 million, alongside a preliminary consolidated profit after tax of EUR 265 million. The proposed dividend aligns with Brenntag's focus on balancing financial stability with shareholder returns, despite a challenging macroeconomic environment characterized by subdued industrial activity and pricing pressures according to preliminary results.

Financial performance for 2025 showed preliminary sales of EUR 15.2 billion, down 3.7% year-on-year, with operating EBITA at EUR 929 million, a 12.6% decline. Free cash flow, however, rose 5.4% to EUR 941 million, underscoring the company's resilience in cash generation. Earnings per share (EPS) fell to EUR 1.83, though this excludes non-cash impairments; adjusted EPS would have been EUR 3.55.

For 2026, Brenntag expects operating EBITDA between EUR 1,150 million and EUR 1,350 million, with management emphasizing cost discipline and operational efficiency amid persistent market uncertainties. The full 2025 annual report and financial results were published on March 12, 2026.
