The US Department of Commerce has imposed higher tariffs on Chinese graphite imports after a final determination. The tariffs, including countervailing duties of 66.68% and anti-dumping duties of 93.5%, bring the total effective rate to approximately 220%. The ruling remains subject to a final affirmative injury determination by the US International Trade Commission. Westwater Resources, a US-based battery-grade natural graphite developer, estimates the cumulative tariff burden at around 220.18%. The final ruling marks a significant escalation from preliminary findings issued in 2025.
