BHP Raises Jansen Mine Cost Estimate to $8.4B Amid Schedule Review

BHP has increased the cost estimate for the first phase of its Jansen potash project in Saskatchewan to US$8.4 billion, up from the July 2025 forecast of US$7-7.4 billion and the original estimate of US$5.7 billion in August 2021. The mine, 75% complete, is expected to produce 4.15 million tonnes per year and start production in mid-2027.
