BCCI Proposes Alternative for Women's Asia Cup Trophy Presentation

India's women's cricket team will not attend the Women's Asia Cup 2026 trophy presentation ceremony if Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi hands over the cup, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia revealed. Saikia stated that both the men's and women's Asia Cup trophies will be in India soon. Saikia also expressed concerns about Naqvi not following established traditions, alleging that he has not been following the normal practice of the winning team's office bearer handing over the trophy. The BCCI had provided an alternative to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for the presentation ceremony, requesting that the president or vice chairman present the trophy.
