AWS Transform, a service designed to help customers assess and migrate their on-premises infrastructure to AWS, has been expanded to include the analysis of detached storage infrastructure. This new capability allows for a comprehensive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) comparison between current and AWS environments. The assessment evaluates Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), file servers, object storage, and virtual environments, providing migration recommendations to appropriate AWS services [1].
Amazon Bedrock, an AI service that supports generative models, has introduced a new feature that allows for global cross-region inference for Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4. This enhancement enables inference requests to route to any supported commercial AWS Region for processing, optimizing available resources and increasing model throughput. The new feature provides flexibility for generative AI use cases that don't require geography-specific processing [1].
Amazon Neptune Database, a managed graph database service, now supports public endpoints. This feature allows for direct connections to Neptune databases from outside the VPC without complex networking configurations. Public Endpoints enable secure access to graph databases from development desktops while maintaining security through IAM authentication, VPC security groups, and encryption in transit [1].
These updates demonstrate AWS's commitment to providing robust and flexible cloud solutions that cater to a wide range of customer needs. As AWS continues to innovate, these new features are likely to enhance the efficiency and performance of cloud-based applications and services.
