This victory marks a notable milestone for the American-born, Brisbane-based teenager who has been rising inexorably in the rankings. She was 684th in the world at the start of last year, rose to 116th throughout 2024, and is now guaranteed to be ranked No 60 or even as high as 53 after her win in Rabat.
