Apple Donates 30 Million Yuan to Zhejiang University for Programming Education
Apple has announced a significant donation of 30 million yuan to Zhejiang University to bolster programming education. This contribution is part of a long-standing collaboration between AppleAAPL-- and the university, which has spanned a decade and focused on the Mobile App Innovation Competition. The funds will be allocated to establish the Apple Mobile App Incubator Fund, aimed at providing advanced technical training in areas such as app development, product design, marketing, and business operations.
The initiative is designed to create a bridge between student developers and industry leaders and investors through various programs, including workshops, internships, and mentorship opportunities. This comprehensive approach will offer additional business training and support students in navigating the dynamic iOS app economy. Apple's CEO, TimTIMB-- Cook, visited Zhejiang University to commemorate the occasion, emphasizing the transformative power of programming as a tool for creativity, communication, and problem-solving. Cook expressed his pride in deepening Apple's decade-long partnership with Zhejiang University, aiming to equip the next generation of developers with the skills necessary to create innovative apps and build successful businesses.
Over the past ten years, Apple's support for the Mobile App Innovation Competition has positively impacted nearly 30,000 participants from over 1,000 universities in the region. Many of these participants have gone on to become app engineers, entrepreneurs, and educators, contributing to society through their programming skills. Prior to establishing the Mobile App Incubator Fund, Apple had already donated 50 million yuan to Zhejiang University to support the Mobile App Innovation Competition.
Zhejiang University's Party Secretary, Ren Shaobo, welcomed the continued collaboration with Apple, highlighting the mutual benefits of leveraging each other's strengths to cultivate well-rounded talent through the Apple Mobile App Incubator Fund.
