Research from ParrotAnalytics indicates that Apple's (AAPL.US) streaming platform Apple TV+ hit show Severance generated over $200 million in revenue for the company. Parrot uses its proprietary "Content Valuation System" to calculate the percentage of revenue generated by a specific work in a specific market during a specific time period. Severance performed as well as other Apple TV+ hits. During the same time period, Slow Horses generated about $184.8 million in revenue, while Morning Show generated $299.4 million. Morning Show's time frame was longer, and the total revenue for The Coach was $609.4 million between Q3 2020 and Q3 2024. "Severance's highly acclaimed first season not only fits Apple's high-end brand positioning but also brings long tail value to streaming," said Brandon Katz, senior entertainment industry strategist at Parrot. Research found that nearly half of Severance's revenue came in the 12 months after the show ended, highlighting the show's ability to attract viewers to catch up and re-watch. This explains why Apple chose to release the second season weekly. Katz said that weekly releases would prompt viewers to catch up and re-watch, which would help generate revenue after the first season finale.
