The company’s earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter fell short of the forecast of -$0.1457.
The company’s cash and cash equivalents stood at $101.2 million as of June 30, 2025, down from $132.2 million at end of fiscal 2024. Despite the decline, Anavex maintains a strong cash position with a projected runway of more than three years.

General and administrative expenses rose to $4.5 million from $2.8 million in the prior year period. The increase in non-cash compensation charges was partially offset by reduced cash operating expenses.
Anavex highlighted its ongoing clinical advancements, particularly in Alzheimer’s disease, with the presentation of open-label extension data for blarcamesine at the 2025 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC). The data demonstrated continued clinical benefit in early-stage Alzheimer’s patients over four years. The company also noted a survey of Alzheimer’s stakeholders in EU Member States indicating a preference for oral therapies due to their accessibility and ease of administration compared to injectable monoclonal antibodies.
Looking ahead, Anavex anticipates feedback from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in the first quarter of fiscal 2026 and is preparing for potential regulatory filings in the UK. The company remains focused on advancing its pipeline and exploring commercialization strategies in Europe.
