Amentum (NYSE: AMTM), a global leader in advanced engineering and innovative technology solutions, has appointed Michele St. Mary as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel, effective immediately. St. Mary brings over 25 years of experience in the government contracting industry, with a proven track record in leading legal, contracts, trade compliance, and ethics functions for progressively larger and more complex business segments. She succeeds Stuart Young, who retires after over 30 years with Amentum and its legacy companies.

St. Mary's extensive experience in the government contracting industry, coupled with her deep understanding of mergers and acquisitions, strategic integrations, government relations, and lobbying, makes her an ideal fit for Amentum's executive leadership team. Her appointment comes at a critical time for the company, as it looks to position itself for global growth opportunities.

"Michele is a top business-driven legal expert with more than 25 years of deep experience in the government contracting industry," said John Heller, Chief Executive Officer of Amentum. "Her wealth of knowledge helps to smartly position us for global growth opportunities, and we welcome her to the executive leadership team."

St. Mary's appointment is expected to strengthen Amentum's risk management strategies, particularly in the context of government contracting and international operations. Her expertise in international trade compliance and export control will be invaluable in ensuring the company's operations comply with relevant laws and regulations while maintaining a strong focus on national security.

St. Mary's appointment also reflects Amentum's commitment to attracting top talent and fostering a culture of business-driven legal expertise. Her experience in leading legal, contracts, trade compliance, and ethics functions at L3Harris Technologies, where she spent 19 years, will be crucial in driving Amentum's strategic direction and ensuring its compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

In her new role, St. Mary will be responsible for leading Amentum's legal, ethics, compliance, contracts, and security functions globally. Her role includes oversight of corporate matters, including governance, transactional and securities law matters, advice on the full range of contracting issues, supervision of company litigation and the areas of labor and employment law, compliance, export control, and international law.

St. Mary earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Yale University and her juris doctorate from Yale Law School. She began her career as an associate at Crowell & Moring LLP and later served as senior counsel at Sun Microsystems, Inc. before joining L3Harris Technologies.
