Amazon WorkSpaces BYOL Image Import: A Step-by-Step Guide

Amazon WorkSpaces has introduced a self-service BYOL enablement feature, allowing customers to import custom Windows images, ISOs, or existing AMIs without requiring Premium Support cases. The revised BYOL framework consists of four high-level steps: enabling BYOL, uploading the Windows virtual machine image to Amazon S3, importing it through the WorkSpaces console, and creating a custom bundle to provision Amazon WorkSpaces. Prerequisites include verifying the WorkSpaces-supported AWS Region and accepting the minimum WorkSpaces commitment to activate BYOL.
