Abrdn National Municipal Income Fund Proposes Reorganization with MFS Municipal Income Trust

Aberdeen National Municipal Income Fund (VFL) plans to reorganize into MFS Municipal Income Trust (MFM), with the goal of creating a larger, more efficient fund with increased trading volume and a higher annual distribution rate. Shareholders will vote on the proposal at a special meeting on March 11, 2026, with the reorganization expected to close in Q2 2026. The reorganization is part of a broader proposal to appoint Aberdeen Investments as the investment adviser and change the Surviving Fund's name to Aberdeen Municipal Income Fund.
