4AG Robotics, a B.C. company that makes mushroom-picking robots, has raised $40-million in growth capital led by Astanor Ventures and Cibus Capital. The company expects revenue to top $7-million this year, up from $2.5-million in 2024 and zero in 2023. 4AG has sold 53 machines, each costing over $300,000, and received several investment offers after two customers in Ireland placed large follow-on orders. The company's robots use AI-powered motion-controlled arms to scan, pick, and pack mushrooms, and can earn back their cost within 18 to 30 months.
