According to a report from The Cigna Group, fewer than one in three American adults have a strong sense of purpose. Those with a strong sense of purpose experience higher vitality, better health, stronger relationships, and greater engagement at work. In contrast, people without purpose have significantly lower vitality and are less likely to practice healthy behaviors. Purpose also appears to have a significant effect on individuals with mental or behavioral health conditions.
