IEO is a solid choice for representative exposure to the oil & gas exploration & production segment. The underlying index includes US companies, of all market-caps, that are engaged in exploration for and drilling, production, refining and supply of oil and gas products. Although its cap-weighting scheme, in this narrow space, makes the fund extremely top-heavy, with its top ten holdings comprising the majority of its overall portfolio.
