Symbotic Inc. (Nasdaq: SYM) reported earnings per share (EPS) of $0.09 for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, significantly exceeding the estimated $0.04 per share. The company’s financial performance reflected strong growth across multiple metrics. Revenue for the quarter reached $720.8 million, a 22% increase compared to the same period in fiscal year 2025. This growth was driven by robust performance in all revenue segments, including systems, software maintenance and support, and operation services.
Net income for the quarter was $55 million, a marked improvement from a net loss of $21 million in the third quarter of fiscal year 2025. Adjusted EBITDA, a key indicator of operational performance, reached $95 million, more than doubling from $45 million in the prior-year period. The company also maintained a strong cash position, with $1.7 billion in cash and cash equivalents at the end of the quarter, although this was a decrease from $2.0 billion in the previous quarter.
Looking ahead, Symbotic provided guidance for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, forecasting revenue between $760 million and $780 million and adjusted EBITDA between $100 million and $105 million. The company also announced the addition of Steve Pagliuca to its Board of Directors, bringing extensive experience in scaling high-growth enterprises.
Analysts had previously forecasted quarterly earnings of $0.12 per share and revenue of $714.76 million, suggesting that Symbotic’s actual results were in line with or slightly below expectations. The company’s shares have seen a modest increase of 0.7% in the past month, outperforming the Zacks S&P 500 composite’s 0.2% gain. With a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), SYM is expected to closely follow the overall market performance in the near term.
Symbotic’s performance highlights its continued expansion in the A.I.-enabled robotics technology sector, with increasing opportunities for growth in both existing and prospective customer markets.
