Istanbul, March 28, 2025 — Turkish authorities have detained two Swedish journalists, Stefan Asberg and Niclas Berglund, upon their arrival in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir. The journalists, who work for the Swedish public broadcaster SVT, were reportedly questioned and subsequently transferred to the foreigners department of the police service.

According to a local news agency, the journalists were detained after filming near a military zone.
