KBR--

KBR (NYSE: KBR) has outlined a strategic climate action plan aimed at achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, following its achievement of carbon neutrality in 2019. The company has already taken significant steps toward this goal, including the purchase of carbon credits from wind farms in India and global Plastic Bank projects to offset its 2019 emissions. KBR’s sustainability agenda is aligned with the United Nations’ Decade of Action plan and includes 10 key pillars focused on accelerating positive environmental and social impact.

The company has also integrated its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals into executive compensation, beginning in 2021, to reinforce its commitment to sustainability. In addition, KBR has increased gender diversity on its board and executive leadership team, with one-third of both groups being female as of 2020.

KBR’s 2019 Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility Report highlights these efforts and outlines the company’s ongoing initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and develop innovative technologies such as floating wind farms and electric vehicle charging platforms. As the company moves forward, it continues to align its operations with global sustainability objectives while managing the challenges posed by the evolving energy market and geopolitical factors.
