Kaldvik Salmon Farm Experiences 6.5% Mortality Due to Jellyfish Event

Kaldvík AS, Iceland's leading salmon farmer, has experienced a jellyfish event at its farming sites in Reyðarfjörður, resulting in 6.5 percentage points of additional mortality in the 2025 generation. The company has initiated increased harvesting and mobilized additional vessels to reduce further losses. Harvest guidance for 2026 remains unchanged at approximately 17,000 tonnes. Jellyfish presence in the fjord has declined, but monitoring remains ongoing.
