Aptiv PLC: UBS cuts target price to $62 from $80
UBS has revised its price target for Aptiv PLC (NYSE: APTV), reducing it to $62 from a previous $80, while maintaining its "Buy" rating. This adjustment follows the company’s first-quarter 2026 earnings update and comes amid a broader market reassessment of the firm’s near-term guidance and cost pressures. Despite the cut, UBS continues to view the stock as undervalued, with the current share price at $56.82, down 21% over the past six months and 15% year-to-date.
The firm attributed the recent sell-off to three key factors: weaker-than-expected second-quarter 2026 guidance, rising cost pressures, and timing-related issues with Ford volume. However, UBS noted that the second-half 2026 growth trajectory appears more achievable than initially perceived, with management retaining its outlook by offsetting some of the cost pressures.
Positive developments in China and non-automotive sectors are also being closely monitored as potential catalysts for growth. Additionally, Aptiv’s recent collaboration with Comau to co-develop industrial automation solutions underscores its strategic expansion into advanced robotics and logistics systems.
