By referring to “desktop” would an Apple (MAC) laptop computer be considered a “desktop” or do you mean an actual desktop MAC or PC?

**Bottom-line first 📌**
When I say “desktop,” I simply mean **any full macOS or Windows computer**—that absolutely includes a MacBook (Air/Pro). In other words, your Apple laptop is functionally identical to a “desktop” for installing and running Fidelity Trader+™. 🎉

### What Counts as “Desktop” for Trader+?
| Device | Supported? | Notes |
|--------|------------|-------|
| MacBook Air/Pro (macOS 12 Monterey or newer) | ✅ | Download the macOS installer (≈ 240 MB) from Fidelity’s “Trading → Trader+ Desktop” page. |
| iMac / Mac mini / Mac Studio | ✅ | Same installer and features as a MacBook. |
| Windows laptop or tower (Windows 10 64-bit or newer) | ✅ | Separate .exe installer. |
| iPhone / iPad (iOS) | 🚫 for Trader+ | Use the Fidelity Investments mobile app for basic trading; advanced Trader+ features aren’t on iOS yet. |
---
### macOS Installation Quick-Start
1. Log in at Fidelity.com.
2. Navigate to **Accounts → Trading → Trader+ Desktop**.
3. Click **“Download for macOS”** and open the .dmg file.
4. Drag **Trader+** into your Applications folder → double-click to launch.
5. On first run, grant permissions (gatekeeper may ask) and log in with your Fidelity credentials.
Tip: Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) Macs run Trader+ natively—no Rosetta required.

### Why Desktop (MacBook) First?
• Full-screen charting, multi-window order tickets, and hotkeys
• Integrated **Tax Optimizer** and **Advanced Option Chains**
• Lower latency for rapid order routing—helpful if you dabble in short-term trades
Once you’re comfortable, install the **Fidelity Investments** iOS app on your iPhone for quick position checks and simple trades while you’re away from the Mac.

Does that clear up the “desktop” vs. “laptop” confusion? 😊
If so, we can move on to installing Trader+ on your MacBook and placing the first core ETF order—just say the word!
