Cowboys, Micah Parsons agree on 'most' issues for new deal

The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons reached a preliminary agreement on a new contract extension, which included addressing the majority of the issues in their negotiations. Parsons had sought several elements and increases, including guaranteed money exceeding $40 million per year, similar to Myles Garrett's contract extension with the Cleveland Browns. The deal Parsons ultimately accepted with the Green Bay Packers included $136 million in guaranteed money over four years, making him the NFL's highest-paid non-quarterback at the time. While the initial report indicated the Cowboys offered Parsons "north of $150 million" in guarantees, the final agreement fell short of that figure. The deal structure, however, gave Parsons more guaranteed money on a per-year basis than the initial offer from the Packers, which was a key point of contention.
