Brightspeed aims to invest around $3.4 billion in capital expenditures over the next five years to support its fiber buildout. This investment is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its fiber network and bridge the digital divide in underserved communities across 20 states.
The company has already secured significant funding, including an additional $1.65 billion in capital announced in August 2025. This funding will support the buildout of its fiber network, which aims to cover more than five million homes and businesses. Brightspeed has passed more than 2.3 million premises with fiber and is scaling to a build rate of one million new fiber locations annually.
The company's fiber network leverages XGS-PON technology to deliver symmetrical multi-gig speeds and has been recognized as the country's fastest internet service. Brightspeed's commitment to investing in its fiber buildout is driven by its goal of providing fast, affordable, and reliable internet access to underserved communities and closing the digital divide.
