there is no hide button

**Bottom line:** In Interactive Brokers TWS (or Client Portal) you cannot permanently “delete” or “hide” individual executions from the Trades window—the list is a regulatory record that must remain intact. What you *can* do is filter or narrow the view so those fills no longer clutter the screen.

### How to keep closed or old trades out of sight
| Platform | Quick path | What to change | Result |
|----------|------------|----------------|--------|
| TWS (Desktop) | Orders & Trades → Trades tab | • Period drop-down at top-left (Today / Since Last Statement / Custom date) • Funnel-shaped “Filter” icon → enter specific symbol, side, or date range | Trades that fall outside the chosen period or filter disappear from view, but remain in the database. |
| Client Portal | Performance & Reports → Statements / Reports | Choose a narrower date range | Same effect—execs outside the range are suppressed from the on-screen list. |
| Portfolio / Positions window (if you just want closed positions gone) | Portfolio tab → gear icon (upper-right) → Settings | Un-tick “Show Zero Positions” | Positions that have been fully closed no longer show up in the grid. |
---
### Why there’s no “Hide” button
• The Trades (Executions) list is part of your official transaction history—regulators require brokers to keep it available.
• IBKR therefore only lets you *filter*, not erase or hide, those records.
• Any true deletion would break the audit trail needed for tax and compliance.

### Tips to keep the window tidy 😊
1. **Save a custom filter.** After setting symbol + date filters, click the small disk-icon (Save) and name it—next time you can load it in one click.
2. **Use separate tabs.** Open a second Trades window (File → New Window → Trades) and keep one filtered for “today only” and the other for “last 90 days.”
3. **Export & archive.** If you need a permanent record but don’t want to see it every day, export the Trades list to CSV (right-click → Export) and store it offline; then filter the in-platform window to “Today.”
Hope that clears things up! If you need step-by-step screenshots, let me know and I can walk you through each click. 📊👍
